Kialo.com Is an Amazing Solution to Online Arguments.

Just found this absolutely incredible website.
Projected applications: Redirecting online disputes to a more productive format as well as outsourcing and archiving the argument. Dialogue or argument script-writing.

It’s an argument-matrix website where every initial argument/ premise has a list of pro and con premises/points which each have their own pros and cons list, with a formal critical thinking admin system.

If you want to tackle an argument or issue [dialogue/monologue] :

Either search an equivalent argument on Kialo (the website below) or start the argument yourself.

You’re required to support all initial/core arguments with 5 pros and 5 cons, which is already a great exercise in getting a more balanced view. Then others can see it, and if you want you can post the argument somewhere to get traffic, (without being too Machiavellian/ be respectful about it, post it on a philosophy board on Reddit or something, if you feel like it’s too confrontational, or just ask a friend to help) or fill out the arguments yourself; It’s a pretty good organising tool, and there’s a slider for how much impact you think the point has.

Then you can go down the list of pros and cons of each argument and you have a matrix of all the points and counterpoints, and counterpoints of those counterpoints etc. in a branching web.

Pick which arguments/ points your characters might make; think of your points for some if you want, and write them in Kialo for potential responses or just as an organising tool; rephrase, embellish, edit.Β πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘
